Robert Preston Schmid, M.D. |
A Magna Cum Laude graduate
of Texas Tech University in 1993 and an Honors graduate of the University of
Texas medical school in 1997, Dr. Schmid was one of 19 residents from across
the country selected to start a dedicated Plastic Surgery
Residency in 1997. He served as chief resident at the
University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston from 2001
through 2002 at which time he completed his residency.
Dr. Schmid has received additional training in cosmetic
surgery at the Stuzin/Baker Fellowship in Miami, Florida,
and additional training in breast reconstruction at the MD
Anderson Clinic in Houston, Texas. He received his
Board Certification in Plastic Surgery in November of 2003, and was elected into the prestigious American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in 2007. |

Born in Austin, Texas, and raised in Lubbock, Dr. Robert P. Schmid is the
grandson of former Governor Preston Smith.Dr. Schmid and
his wife, Beth, were married in 1995 and enjoy raising their
three children: Sarah Beth (born 1999), Preston (born
2002), and Pierce (born 2007). |
